Fitness Goals Beyond The HCG Diet (Phase 4)
Define Your Goals
We often get the questions that basically ask "when can I start working out" or "when can I start getting into cardio shape during the HCG diet." The answer depends on what you plan to do next and what your long-term goals are.
More Weight To Lose
If you are in phase 3, but have more weight to lose and are going for another round of the HCG diet, then you should stay at the activity level recommended for phase 2: walking about a mile (1.6 km) a day. In phase 3, you are stabilizing and not adding starches, so it isn't a good idea to do more than this. A mile (1.6 km) per day should keep your body on the idea that you aren't getting lazy, that movement is still important to you.
Moving On To HCG Phase 4 - Maintain &/or Fitness Goals
If you are moving on to phase 4 (maintain) then you will need to define what your long-term goals are: Maintain your HCG Results, or Move onto Fitness Goals.
Maintain After HCG
If you are satisfied with your body composition (muscle to fat ratio) and the way you look, then a brisk walk or similar activity for 20-30 minutes a few times each week combined with a sensible phase 4 diet will serve you just fine. If you have the physical ability (and desire) to do more than this, doing 20 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a perfect choice, and one that many of our Younger Body readers opt for. It is one of the best ways to increase your health and fitness without gaining a lot of muscle or spending too much time in the gym each week.
Fitness Goals After HCG
If you have used the HCG diet as an extremely fast way to lose body fat and are now wanting to get into shape, then you have a couple of good choices, again, depending on your goals.
- You can design your own program.
- You can work with a trainer online, at home, or in a gym.
- You can follow one of several programs that we have found extremely effective, again, depending your goals.
