No problem! So, you need to lose 50 lbs, and you're posting on the HCG Diet forum, so can I assume you're interested in accomplishing that goal with this diet, or are you looking for something else?

What do you need / want to know? How can I help?

What are your biggest obstacles? Have you always struggled with weight, slowly been adding it on, or has something changed in your life that has had a big impact?

well do i start hahaha! SO ive been blessed with 4 beautiful girls. Ive gained about 50 lbs over the past 10 years. i REALLY want to get back to pre baby weight or close to it. Im an emotional eater. I have an addiciton to chocolate (sugar). i "know" a lot of info on how to get healthy, how to eat right etc, but IM STRUGGLING. im going to start a workout program in may for 12 weeks. i have no problem with the workouts, but its the eating that ruins me.

LOL - yeah, that sounds about right. ;)  I love that you make the distinction between what youknow to do and what you actually do.  Haha - I think we all know how that feels!

It's good that you know your strengths and your weaknesses. Being comfortable working out is a definite plus! It's hard to get some people moving, so that's a great calorie burner on your side.  The eating isstill the biggest portion of weight loss and weight management though, so let's tackle that one.

What do you know about the HCG Diet? Do you have any experience with it or known anyone who's been on it?

Did you do the prescription hCG? Years ago, the "homeopathic" hCG drop were really popular.  Joseph and I got caught in that mistake before we got more educated. Unfortunately, that gave the whole diet a bad reputation.

You can read about the difference between the two and some of our story (side effects, etc.) at HCG Injections Vs. Drops.

We still lost weight, but without the real hCG hormone, there were definitely some down sides. The biggest was what it did to our metabolisms. The hCG hormone protects your metabolismandyour muscle. The "homeopathic" drops weren't even real homeopathy - that's not how it works and that industry didn't even claim them. The FDA took them off of the market. Now, there are still some that call themselves "HCG Releasers".  There's a really simple test for hCG - it's called a pregnancy test. ;)  No, people taking hCG for the diet won't show up positive on a pregnancy test, but the hCG hormone should. We've tested the type we first used (homeopathic drops) and they showed "negative". We also tested the prescription type that we get from Nu Image Medical, and it tested positive.  (I need to put up a video of that. )

So, which did you use? Did you have a prescription? Did you inject or use drops? Also, I still find it fascinating that you didn't lose any weight. What kind of diet/eating were you doing while on it? How long were you on it before you stopped?

Also, you mentioned you were going to be starting a 12-week fitness program in May. Good for you! (By the way, you might be interested to take a peak at our "Results Take Time" post that talks about 12-week fitness programs. ) When in May are you looking to start?

I ask because aggressive exercise is discouraged while on the HCG Diet.  It's due to the extremely low calories on the diet and how intense exercise will trigger hunger, etc. (I've experienced it and actually stalled in my fat loss, believe it or not.) Low intensity movement (like walking) is encouraged.

I'm just trying to gauge the perfect timing for you to see how much you could lose before starting the fitness program. Otherwise, we can modify it to increase the calories slightly and place them around the workout. I've done that before and it can work. It just takes a bit of tweaking, and most people love the idea that a diet program tells them not to exercise - lol ;)
