I want to go on a liquid diet or close to one.  Can you give me a diet to follow?

Kim - Tell me more about your goals for the liquid diet.  Also, how long do you want to be on it?
I'd recommend different diets depending on goals (weight loss, detox, etc.) and length of diet (1 week, 1 moth, etc.).

Weight loss for sure and a month Detox with it if possible.  How long do the Detox take?  I start my mornings with 8oz. water, then 8 oz lemon water.  Then when I feel hungry, I make up a green drink adding collagen with vitamin C, B6, glucosamine w/MSM+hyaluronis acid, acidophilus, and calcium magnesium citrate.  Oh, and fish oil 720mg.

Wow Kim! It looks like you are doing a lot of great things!

Ok, so weight loss is your primary goal, but you'd also like to do some detoxing. I can give you a combo diet to achieve both goals.

First, tell me why you prefer to be on a liquid diet? (I want to better understand your goals and thought process.)

Next, there are several different successful ways to structure diets and schedule eating times. I can suggest the best one for your personal eating schedule. It sounds like you're already having a lot of fluids in the morning, so what are your needs concerning breakfast (need it, could go without it, prefer to skip it, etc.)? When do you like to have your first meal of the day? When do you like to have the last meal of the day?

Also, let's look at some of the things you are already doing:

  • "Start my mornings with 8oz. water, then 8 oz lemon water" - This is a good way to get your system moving and for cleansing. Great start!
  • "A green drink adding collagen with vitamin C, B6, glucosamine w/MSM+hyaluronic acid, acidophilus, and calcium magnesium citrate" - That's a power drink! Tell me what brands you're using & I might be able to help you find one that gives more in one place (it's always nicer to get all your needs with less products to purchase, store & travel with).
  • "Fish oil 720mg" - Glad to see you getting your omega-3 oils! What brand and type are you using? It's important, when working with omega-3 oils, that they be sourced and handled properly. They are delicate oils and should not be heated or they become rancid.

I prefer a liquid diet at least in part due to solid food making me feel sick after eating.  Eating lighter amount helps, but I still don't feel good.

As for when I feel like eating, breakfast usually around 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., which I then usually eat lunch.  When I eat breakfast, it is usually a veggie omelet.  I avoid bread since I don't do well with grains.  I do alright with potato and fish and most veggies.

Last meal I prefer to be a few hours before residing for the evening.  I usually go to be at 11:00 and up at 7:00.

Products I use right now:

Barlean's Organic oils Geeens 1 scoop

Neocell Collagen type 1&3 powder (easier for my drinks)

Ester-C 500 mg w/Citus Bioflavonoids - ground up 2

Doctor's Best Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM+Hyaluronic Acid, but have used Now Hyaluronic Acid.  The Collegen states their prodect is inhance with paired with Hyaluroic Acid products.

Nature's Way Vitamin B-6 100 mg

Nutrition Now PB 8 pro-biotic Acidophilus - use to get yeast infections is when I started using this.  I rarely get them anymore if I avoid a lot of fruit and soda drinks.  I also use it if my stomach becomes acidic.  I run on the acidic side.  I was trying to research something that takes care of all bacteria are body needs.  Know of one?

Nature Mad Fish Oil 720 mg Omega 3 - it was on sale and convenient.  I don't like swallowing the large softgels though.  gag gag

LifeTime High Potency Calcium Magnesium Citrate Milk & Gluten free liquid.  Natural Blueberry Flavor.  I was looking for Magnesium because I heard it would help me sleep better.  This was on sale and I haven't been taking any Calcium for a long while.  It usually constipates me.  I mix this in my drink and with all the stuff added to it, I haven't seem to have that problem any longer.

Hopes this helps! :-)

Hi Kim,

I understand. We recently did something similar to what you're looking for. With some modifications, I think will work well for you. I'll work on it and get back to you with links to details and some recipes.

With your difficulty digesting heavier foods, I definitely think it's important for you to do some detoxing. Along with some other things, I suggest doing a liver and gallbladder flush (I'll work it into the program for you).  Gallstones can block your bile flow. Bile is necessary for digestion and absorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins. With your difficulties digesting heavy foods, I expect this might be playing a role.

Thank you for the detailed list of what you are taking. I see a lot of good products there! I do have a few suggestions that could help you get more of your needs met from less products. I'll put that together too.

I would love a detail on any cleansing with product and the order of what to do first.

Liquid diet helps in losing body weight. Some liquid diets are limited to fruit or vegetable juices, or shakes, that replace all of your meals, taken three or four times a day. You do some of these diets on your own. Others need medical supervision. This diet also helps in preventing skin issues like cellulite and also health issues.
