How To Do Skin Treatments with Banana Peel

Banana peels can be used form many different types of skin treatments:

  • Acne
  • Rashes
  • Age spots
  • Psoriasis
  • Bug bites
  • Bee stings

I was recently in a foreign country when I got a skin rash. None of the classic western medicines were available to me. The few skin creams that I was able to get to soothe the itchy, irritated skin didn't help at all. Desperate for relief, I started looking online for a natural remedy - something that I could buy at a local grocery store. That's when I came across different uses for banana peels as a skin treatment. I used it and it became my lifeline. It was amazing how quickly and effectively it worked. Here's how to do it.

How To Use Banana Peel For Skin Treatment

  1. Peel the banana (Plantains can also work).
  2. Place the inside of the banana peel against the affected area of your skin (as if your skin were the fruit).
  3. Either leave in place, or gently rub depending on the area needing to be covered.
  4. Leave on for as long as you can stand it (at least 20 minutes).
  5. Rinse with cold water.

As my rash covered a large area of skin, I rubbed the banana peel on my skin. It leaves a bit of a residue on the skin, but this is really helpful. I found that as long as the residue was there, the itching wasn't. For the worst areas, I wrapped the used banana peel and left it against the skin. A lovely side benefit - my skin was really soft after using the banana peel.

Tips for using Banana Peels on Skin

  • Use organic bananas as commercial varieties are grown with a lot of chemicals.
  • Always test the banana peel on a small portion of the skin or rash. Everyone's skin is different and rashes can react differently.
  • When I used the banana peel on my face, it became flushed. It didn't irritate the skin; it just brought a lot of blood flow to the area. I was a little concerned at first, but it worked wonderfully there as well.
  • When using on a bite or bee sting, you can simply cut a small portion of the peel and bandage it onto the bite or bee sting and leave it in place.
  • It can be left on overnight (once you have tested it on the skin and resulted in no irritation).

Greens Plus Multi-Vitamin Replacement

Taste of Greens

If it's disgusting, you're not going to keep drinking it. Taste is important. Green Vibrance is that it doesn't have any off-putting tastes. There's nothing that stands out and it doesn't taste like swamp water (though it does look like it).

Sweet or Salty?

Taste is about more than palatability - it also has to do with flavor. I've had greens that tasted fine because they added stevia, so they were a little sweet. This is great, if you like sweet. If you don't? Good luck.

One of my reader's pointed out that she gets really tired of sweet things and would love to have her greens salty. That's one of the things that I like about Green Vibrance (other than the no disgusting flavors) - they don't add any sweeteners. That gives me control of flavors. If I want it sweet, I add a scoop of Stevia or mix it with a chilled juice or herbal tea. (Yes - it tastes better cold.) If I want it salty, I add salt, maybe even garlic or mix it with a Raw Gazpacho Juice Recipe, or chilled broth. The point is, you control the flavor. Sweet or Salty? Your choice.


Greens: Easy Mixing

I find it easiest to have my greens "shaken, not stirred".  To accomplish that, I use this simple little shaker cup I picked up from Vitamin Shoppe. I particularly like BlenderBottle GoStak Twist n' Lock Storage Jars. You can take your greens and a few servings of protein all to be used in the same bottle! (I told you I like multi-purpose.) For the moms and dads out there, you could even use a sippy cup. Just make sure to take out the filter first, put a finger over the sipping area and wash when done. I certainly don't want to get any of you into trouble with this suggestion. Hey, it's all about using what you have (again with the multi-purpose!).

The HCG Diet For Skinny-Fat People

*NOTE* This is a post I wrote while I was going through the HCG Diet Program. I thought I'd share it now to help other skinny-fat people out there. ;)  Summer is approaching - feel empowered with options!

I absolutely LOVE this HCG Diet program!!!

I'll admit, no matter what people tell you, there are the occasional hunger spurts and cravings for forbidden foods. And those times are not easy, but all that's needed to get me through them are the numbers on my scale each morning! I'm not kidding. I've lost an overage of 1/2 lb. a day. That's 3.5 lbs. a week! And here's the REALLY good news - It's all FAT!!! Recordable, measurable, trackable - it's FAT. Maybe if you've never really tried to lose fat, you won't be able to appreciate those numbers. If you have, you know what it means to see that consistent drop - not in just weight, but specifically in FAT!!!

I'm a Skinny-Fat Person

You've probably read about those people who lose 1-2 lbs. a day on this HCG Diet. I've seen it - It's real! It's not at all uncommon for men, in general, or women who are truly overweight. Why am I not getting those numbers? … Easy - I'm not overweight, but I am overFAT. What does this mean? My BMI says, “I'm healthy”. My dress size says, “I'm thin”. My weigh scale says, “No worries”… or at least it would, if it didn't have the ability to measure my Body Fat %. My Yo-Yo Diet & Exercise Experience

I've spent hours in the gym working to tone my muscles with weighted exercises, and it's worked. Unfortunately, the fat remained. Then I'd cut back my calories to try to “trim up” and I'd LOSE the MUSCLE I'd just worked so hard to get. I suppose you could call that a different form of yo-yo dieting. What I LOVE so much about the HCG Diet is the ability to keep my muscle while losing my fat. Also, I like that I'm seeing my thighs go down vs. my bust. There was nothing more frustrating then losing my muscle AND my breasts all while the fat that had settled in as “saddle bags” wouldn't budge!

I'm Almost There

So, I'm about another week away from reaching my goal. That doesn't sound so hard. I've made it this far and I'm loving what I'm seeing.

PS - Did I mention that my “skinny jeans”, which used to be a second skin, are now loose in all the important areas. They fit, straight out of the dryer, like they used to fit the second or third day. - Yeah, I'm loving it!
